I’m so glad to have joined Concordia during my senior year. The teachers and students here are all super friendly and have been very encouraging to me. The first time I learned about Concordia was during my freshman year when I represented BISS Puxi in a robotics competition (Spring 2023) against Concordia’s “Gear Ratio” team (and many other schools) and we were utterly defeated. Since then I’ve deeply admired this school.
Over the years I’ve gone through many different places, met many people and said goodbye to many. Each vanishing memory has been serendipitously captured in a track I composed. So now when I listen to these tracks, it’s as if I’m time-travelling back to those moments. Every time I can’t help but think that because I was so carefree, I didn’t fully savor and wring every single moment. “We clasp each other’s hands with tearful eyes, but words are choked within our throats by sighs.” There are so many nostalgic thoughts, yet I will be like a marionette and compelled to look ahead relentlessly if I refuse to be anchored by them. Nevertheless, I will continue to compose more music to preserve these memories, especially now that I’m entering college.
