Consequentialism

Whenever I make a hard decision, I always think about objective consequences and choose the least worst option among them.

It helps reduce conflicts because I have to think from their perspective first, which would be one of the consequences of their feelings.

I believe in consequentialism, therefore it is wrong to criticize Mao Zedong publicly in China because it would cause a severe negative problem, which might get criminal detention or imprisonment.

If that scenario actually happens, I won’t sign that code of conduct policy.
From different perspectives of different groups, they all advise against signing this.

The main reason is that a rule banning the public display of homosexual relationships leads to significant dissatisfaction from the LGBTQ+ group. In my opinion, even though there is such a rule to ban this relation, there shall still be a lot of gay or lesbian couples inside the college, but they would sort of change their behavior to prevent showing themselves. This would definitely have a large negative impact on them.
In addition, if I sign this document, I will probably be condemned by those people who support this because I did an action, whereas if I do not sign it, didn’t solely mean I support LGBTQ+. Therefore, to express myself as universal and reduce my social problem, choosing not to sign is the answer.
