Although Indian Ocean trade route and the Silk road are developed base on completely different technologies, the most significant difference is different cultural consequences spread during the trading process. The Indian Ocean trade route mostly spread Islam to Africa and India while the Silk road mainly spread Buddhism from India to eastern and southeastern Asia. This shows how the two different routes placed distinct roles when it comes to religious diffusion.
One major cultural consequence of Afro-Eurasian trade from 1200 to 1450 would be the spread of Islam across Africa and Asia through the trading process. This exchange not only shared the religious traditions to other places but also promoted new integrated forms of art and architecture styles. These consequences are significant to the culture diffusion within these areas and promoted the future development of cultures.
One environmental consequence of Afro-Eurasian trade from 1200 to 1450 would be the spread of knowledge of Monsoon Wind. This knowledge not only promoted more trading rounds and raised the efficiency during the process but also lead to more communication of religions and cultures.
