As a member of the SAMS team, I will be in an environment where innovation and equity are combined together, which is fundamental to my STEM identity. In the communities where I grew up, especially my school, advanced STEM resources were quite scarce, and I often witnessed my classmates disengage from science due to a lack of guidance. We don’t even have basic physics lab equipment in our school. In contrast, SAMS brings me the most advanced resources available. In the future, I will find ways to integrate what I have learned into my school. Not only bringing in more hardware resources but also adding a STEM environment where the students can participate and co-create. I feel that in achieving any goal such like that is a boost to my passion.
In terms of social inequality, I think one of the most serious issues right now among Chinese is that AI usage rate in China is severely low. As far as I know, most Chinese people don’t know or don’t know how to use generative AI. in my free time, I will help some students to complete some tasks or solve some problems on the internet. When I asked them if they had asked to AI first, their answer was almost always no. I think this is a rather serious phenomenon. And the probable reason for this is that they don’t take AI seriously, thinking that it is just a very common tool. My idea is to develop a tutorial site that teaches people how to use AI, and then advertise it as much as possible on social media platforms to lower the barriers to use. And there must be accurate report about the capabilities of AI. Many people may think that AI is not useful, not realizing that they are already out of touch with society in a large way.
