Through the increased trend of social media and technology in the twentieth first century, social media is influencing adolescent’s daily life and mental wellbeing immensely. Research has proved that the signs of depression and anxiety rises among teenagers throughout the years. Adolescence is a time of rapid social, intellectual, and psychological changes, making adolescents easily influenced by factors causing serious challenges for future growth and development. This will be used in the introduction of our essay to provide context on the dangers of abusing social media apps and how it’s negatively impacting teenager academic performance and stress levels. In addition, we have drafted a rough timeline that includes the dates where we have to collect/analyse survey results and when we’re going to write specific parts of the essay.
