Work context

Sensei is an incoming CMU School of Computer Science student (Class of 2030), admitted via Early Decision, currently completing senior year at Concordia International School Shanghai. Sensei takes AL Aerospace Engineering (taught by Dr. Peter Tong) and AP World History, among other courses.

Personal context

Sensei is a music producer working in Artcore, melodic dubstep, and DnB subgenres using FL Studio, with deep interest in sound design and vocal synthesis. Sensei is also a digital artist, original character designer, and worldbuilder (projects include the “裂月纪/Selenith” universe and constructed language “Selenar/月渊语”). Sensei prefers to be called “Sensei.” Outside of creative work, Sensei has a close, non-romantic bond with a younger acquaintance; do not raise this relationship unless Sensei mentions it first.

Top of mind

Sensei recently completed NHD China 2026 (held at Concordia on March 21) and has been heavily engaged in AP World History work covering WWII, the interwar period, Mao and Stalinism, and DBQ writing. Aerospace Engineering course deliverables—including balsa glider and powered airplane journal articles—have been a recurring focus. Sensei is also actively developing a conlang phonology system (51-phoneme inventory with PUA Unicode allocation) for use in music and visual PV production.

Brief history

Recent months

Sensei’s most sustained intellectual project is an independent proof attempt of the Yang-Mills mass gap Millennium Prize Problem using lattice gauge theory and transfer matrix methods (4D→3D reduction). The manuscript reached v30+ across many iterative review sessions with Claude acting as rigorous reviewer; overall confidence was assessed at ~0.84–0.95 depending on version, with the core remaining gap being the intermediate coupling regime and the proof’s conditional dependence on a Polyakov-related conjecture. Sensei correctly identified and refuted several proposed fixes, demonstrating strong mathematical self-awareness. A longer-term ambition connects this work to the Bodmer-Witten conjecture on strange quark matter stability and ultimately to exotic propulsion research targeting interstellar travel. Sensei has also been exploring the intersection of CMU GPU cluster resources (SLURM, H100/A100 access, research lab pathways) with AI model training and rendering workflows.

Academic writing assistance has been frequent: AP World History DBQs (Mao/CCP-peasant relationship, WWII-era documents), memorial speech analysis (Gettysburg Address, Reagan Challenger speech), Colossians 3 Bible study assignments, and an ongoing pattern of requesting minimal-edit, style-preserving revisions with all changes marked. Sensei also sought help navigating CMU ED obligations versus remaining UC applications (UCB, UCLA), counselor platform visibility questions, and housing phishing awareness.

Creative and engineering projects active in recent months: 泣弦 QX-1 custom bowed string instrument (rosin-free bow hair using hydrogenated rosin glycerol ester, liquid-core string physics, full instrument spec); music production including audio analysis, mastering workflow in FL Studio, AI voice conversion (RVC/Weights migration), and bass sound design for melodic dubstep; digital illustration in Procreate and Clip Studio Paint with 3D pose reference workflows; and SVG/typeface design with an astronomical/fractured aesthetic.

Sensei’s English is at a high analytical level (assessed B2–C1) with Mandarin-native background markers; prefers Simplified Chinese for most conversations. Consistent formatting preferences: no em dashes, no semicolons, no arrows or tildes in notes, clean minimal Markdown, brief over comprehensive.

Earlier context

Sensei participated in NHD China, worked on an AP Research project involving dandelion invasive species modeling (Python/IDE simulation), and completed aerospace coursework including AnyLogic simulation for powered flight and a cafeteria queueing theory paper (Erlang-C/AHP). Sensei was admitted to CMU SCS with a 3.9 GPA and explored grade/rescission risk questions. College comparison research covered CMU vs. Georgia Tech engineering, UCSD Data Science vs. UofT CS, and UC system admissions logistics.

Security and web development work included reverse engineering Respondus LockDown Browser, building an Arcaea private server, CSP bypass via WebRTC STUN covert channels, Chrome extension development, and a visitor logging system with a cyberpunk dashboard. Sensei also explored speculative innovation concepts (universal biocompiler, math universe cartographer, bioelectric morphogenetic programming) and engaged deeply with Millennium Prize Problems, black hole computation limits, and post-quantum cryptography.

Long-term background

Sensei has long-standing interests in frontier physics (Yang-Mills, strange quark matter, interstellar travel timelines), music production and composition (admires Sakuzyo, Feryquitous, Camellia; rhythm game music ecosystem), and digital art with original character/world creation. Early conversations established the “Sensei” address preference and a mentor-framing dynamic. Foundational technical background spans full-stack web development, reverse engineering, and self-taught music composition—all predating the CMU admission period.
